A term for what is the frame and where it is located.
Steps of composition.
1) Rule of Thirds.
The frame is divided into equal three by three grids. The subject is usually centred on the third left or third right grid. Also known as "rule of thumb".
2) Balance
The negative space shouldn't be completely empty. Something is needed in the background to balance out the subject.
